Is it possible to combine an epic mountain bike descent, 3,200-meter-high views, and Oaxaca’s deepest culture all in one day? Absolutely.
We have designed the definitive scenic tour: a 10-hour adventure that takes you from the clouds of the Sierra Norte to the central valleys, finishing with a mezcal tasting.
From the Sierra’s Peak to the Valley’s Heart
This isn’t an extreme enduro ride; it’s a 45 km scenic adventure designed for basic to intermediate riders who want to cover a lot of ground (90% mountain) without a grueling technical effort.
Your day will look like this:
Transport to the Top: We pick you up and travel to the majestic Sierra Norte, having breakfast in Cuajimoloyas, one of the “Pueblos Mancomunados” (Commonwealth Towns).
The Suspension Bridge: We ride to Benito Juárez to visit and cross Oaxaca’s highest suspension bridge, a spot with incredible views (like the ones we recently shared from our friends from Greece).
The Descent: We begin the 2-hour scenic descent, dropping over 1,800 meters on wide dirt roads, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
Textile Culture: We arrive in Teotitlán del Valle , where an artisan family will give us a private demonstration of how they create textiles with natural dyes.
The Final Toast: We close the day at a Mezcal distillery, where we’ll eat local dishes and learn the agave process with a tasting of more than 10 different varieties.
This is, without a doubt, the most complete experience to live the adventure, culture, and flavor of Oaxaca in a single day.
