We will pick you at your lodging and drive to our shop where we will prepare the bikes and present the team for the day. Then we will start pedaling through a bike path for 20min until we reach a detour that will take us through basic/intermediate level trail for 1 hour through the mountains that will lead us to the main plaza of Santa María del Tule and where we will have a delicious local breakfast at the Gastronomic Market. Afterwards, we will visit the Tule Tree and learn about its history and cultural importance.
After the breakfast and explanation, we will get on our bikes and prepare to ride for 30kms on local gravel backroad trails, passing through ancient hidden ruins and ancient churches, all with incredible scenery from Oaxaca Central Valleys until reaching Tlacolula de matamoros, a small indigenous village where we will do a strategic stop to eat a snack, rest, and where you will also have the option to jump on the van (which will be accompanying us during all the tour) to the rest of the tour, or continue the last 10kms riding until reaching San Pablo Villa de Mitla ruins where we will end our riding part.
After resting and exploring the village for a while , we will continue to our last stop in the comfort of our van and visit the petrified waterfalls of “Hierve el agua”, where you can rest and deep in its natural pools. A regarding moment after a day of good pedaling and visiting the most emblematic places in Oaxaca. After this, we will start our return to Oaxaca city.
On private tours you can include a Post ride meal at a restaurant with unique views of the mountains before going back to Oaxaca City (Optional)
