Explore the majestic Sierra Norte of Oaxaca by e-bike on a 60km tour through seven interconnected villages, some over 400 years old and direct descendants of the Zapotec culture. These villages seem straight out of a fairytale, traversing forests with towering agave plants, crystal-clear rivers, naturally growing fruit trees, and breathtaking landscapes. Once we’ve selected and adjusted our bikes, our team will load them into our van, and we’ll travel towards Sierra Norte, the largest forest and jungle corridor in Mexico and one of the most important in the Americas. Before arriving, we’ll stop in an artisan village specializing in the production of rugs and textiles with natural dyes, where we’ll have a light breakfast. Finally, we’ll continue to our first stop in the mountains: Neverías.
Once we arrive at the village of Neverias, we’ll unload our bikes and begin our 60km journey through lush forests, past giant agave plants, and through unique Mexican natural landscapes. We’ll stop in each of the villages along the way: Neveria, Benito Juarez, Cuajimiloyas, Yavesia, and Lachatao, to appreciate the scenery and learn some important facts about them. We’ll enjoy fast sections, hidden singletracks, and challenging climbs that will be a breeze on your e-bike.
After climbing over 1000 meters and pedaling 60km, our final stop will be in the village of Lachatao, nestled in the mountains. There, we’ll have the opportunity to explore its 400-year-old church and its unparalleled mountain views. Once we arrive at this place, we will leave the bicycles aside and have a delicious meal in a communal dining room (Private only) with amazing views before departing for the city of Oaxaca, thus ending the tour with a feeling of fulfillment and awe.
