Get to know the legendary Árbol del Tule (the world’s widest tree) on a real mountain bike adventure. We skip the pavement and guide you through scenic dirt trails to the town of Santa María del Tule, exploring the beautiful Oaxacan countryside.
Start your adventure at Bike Flow, where you’ll pick your bike, strap on your helmet, and meet our guides ready to show you the best of Oaxaca on two wheels. From there, we’ll follow the scenic bike path connecting Oaxaca City to Santa María del Tule, enjoying the fresh morning air and views of the surrounding valleys, all this with a small and select group of 6 riders (On group tours) for smoother and real ride experience.
After about 20 minutes, we’ll veer off onto an easy-to-intermediate XCO MTB trail, riding for roughly 50 minutes through the beautiful Oaxacan countryside. You’ll pass old mine paths, rolling hills, and lush landscapes—perfect for snapping photos or just soaking in nature. Depending on the group’s energy, we might even climb to a stunning viewpoint of fering panoramic vistas of the Central Valleys.
Our trail leads straight to the town of Santa María del Tule, home of Mexico’s largest tree. Here, we’ll park our bikes in a safe zone and share an exciting exploration of the tree’s history, cultural significance, and environmental importance. After the guided insights, enjoy 30 minutes of free time to wander the village, check out its vibrant local markets, or try traditional treats. We highly recommend tasting Tejate, a pre-Hispanic cacao and maize drink, or a refreshing homemade ice cream (“Nieve”)—a true taste of Oaxaca!
Finally, we’ll ride back along the bike path to Oaxaca City, completing a 3-hour MTB adventure filled with scenic trails, local culture, and unforgettable moments. Whether you’re here for the ride, the views, or the flavors, this tour is the perfect way to experience the heart of Oaxaca outside the city.
During the hot season (March–May), you can choose to start at cooler hours (7am or 4pm), ideal for arriving for brunch or meal after a good ride.
